“Music will have started with people singing accompanied by sounds made by banging things together (even if this was just rocks or sticks). We’d then develop musical instruments AND we’d then gather to listen and perhaps to dance to collections of people singing and playing musical instruments. It’s likely that 90% of the population in the distant past would have spent some time singing and or playing a musical instrument.”
In our allegedly ‘advanced’ age, not only does hardly anyone sing or play a musical instrument but most people that listen to music mostly do so completely on their own via socially ISOLATING ear plugs AND they listen to music which has been composed and played by others they’ve never even met.
I also recently read that many schools are now discontinuing teaching music and are no longer supporting school orchestras. It’s amazing where a ‘technological’ alleged advanced civilisation has taken us to. Just look how personally advanced, and personally multi SKILLED we all are now!!!
What Would I-Pod Music & Song Focused Neural Implant Technology Offer as Possibilities?
So, we’ve evolved through having music radio stations, cassettes, DVDs then Walkman, then i-pods . . . so, it wouldn’t be long would it, before we’d have an i-pods functions and options and an entire library of music IN YOUR HEAD as part of some ‘music’ implant!!!
Particularly as it’s guaranteed that whomever makes this implant work well first will likely sell them like hot cakes!!!
So, I want you to imagine that YOU are a simulated person and that you reading this here and now are actually being simulated as having some sophisticated i-pod technology built into your head. I want you to think of this possibility and to see if you can figure out some of the consequences of having a music library in you head with an internal HUD interactive display, a music tracks selection function as well as all sorts of specific track auto play options and settings.
Let me point out some of the more likely possibilities . . .
It is likely that more expensive music library versions will monitor your mood, your internal and thinking states while ALL in your head i-pods will offer options to play music when you are in certain states and particularly at specific times or when you are doing specific things. For example, you’d likely have options to be woken to your favourite music track each morning or your current ‘favourite’ track or the track your mood monitoring i-pod detected as being your current favourite. You are also likely to have options to automatically have music played depending on your current mood and or circumstances. For example, it’s is very likely that you’d have options that would have music automatically playing a short time after you sat down on the tube, the train or the bus because your i-pod will know that you’ve just used your swipe payment card at the tube/train/bus payment unit and now you are ready to listen to some music.
Why Music, Tunes & Songs Play in Peoples Heads ALL THE TIME?
If you are a simulated person with this type of i-pod music library in your head then how would the above embedded scripted experience play out / be translated here as part of your day to day experience?
Despite that you here would not be aware of having this ‘music implant’ as part of your script you will unfortunately find yourself living through at least some of the scripted experience effects of having this type of implant in your head.
Anyone having such an implant would likely find themselves having spontaneous tunes and song tracks automatically playing out in their head, in some cases virtually ALL THE TIME. While ‘unbelievably’ having apparently no control over this happening.
How bizarre would it be to have tunes automatically and spontaneously playing in your head? How would you explain having ENTIRE TRACKS playing out in your head and particularly when some of the time the complete lyrics that YOU YOURSELF ARE UNABLE TO CONSCIOUSLY REMEMBER are being accurately re-played in your head.
When I did in the past spend time listening to music it did strike me as odd that despite for tracks that I just listened to for the ‘music’ content and not the lyrics my head would play these tunes with the lyrics that I wasn’t interested in and hence didn’t notice and couldn’t remember!!!
From an evolutionary point of view what advantage would there be having a SHIT, remedial grade, decrepit, ‘mind/consciousness’ while apparently having a sub-conscious that is often BRILLIANT in comparison BUT you’ve absolutely no control over?
HOW UNBELIEVABLY ‘BALMY’ IS THIS?
Earworm & Stuck Song Syndrome Repeating Music in Your Head Disorder!!!!
From Wikipedia:
“An earworm, sometimes known as a brainworm, is a catchy piece of music that continually repeats through a person’s mind after it is no longer playing. Phrases used to describe an earworm include musical imagery repetition, involuntary musical imagery, and stuck song syndrome” . . .
Stuck Song Syndrome as described on the Urban Dictionary web site:
“To listen to music before going out of the house, and having the last song you hear before leaving stick in your head all through your journey, and beyond. Is usually accompanied by subconscious humming. This syndrome is particularly dangerous when the song happens to be the most pathetic, crappy, albeit catchy song ever. You might have heard this song in a span of 30mins or a max 8hrs.”
This happening ‘really’ doesn’t make any sense at all for real people living in a real reality.
However, it does make sense for people living in a simulation whose designers in slowing down technological developments WILL KNOW that from the start of the i-pod implant in your head phase peoples simulated heads are going to be inundated with song after song playing out in their head as well as being subjected to other internal ‘chattering’ background clutter.
Have you ever had a Song Playing IN YOUR HEAD of a Song that DOESN’T YET EXIST?
The other odd thing is that I’ve seen people leave comments of music they’ve heard PLAYING IN THEIR HEAD of tracks that they are not familiar with that even more bizarrely turn out not to have been written or played yet. In other words, some people have heard tracks of music that are only written and get played and listened to months or years later. If you remember, I pointed out in one of the previous memory pages that if we are in a simulation then some peoples timelines may not be being played out in the correct order. In other words in a simulation SPECIFICALLY it would not be unreasonable for some peoples script to have music tracks play in their head of music that in our simulated world have not yet even been written never mind publicly played. This is entirely possible.
So, if you can have music tracks automatically playing in your head (rather than you consciously ‘humming’ or ‘singing’ them) then what OTHER ‘balmy’ shit may you also have happening in your own head because some other mobile phone function is ‘operational’ within it?
How often do you have ‘songs’ playing in your head (rather than being hummed or sung (even in your head))? Is there a pattern to when these play? Can you switch them off? Do they disturb or distract you? Have you tried to switch them off? Are specific songs linked to specific moods or times or external circumstances?

Great article. While I used to sporadically listen to music on the radio – I have since discontinued this a few years ago and trying to clear my head. Too much of what you mention going on and very weird results. These modern devices display the name of the tune and I would run daily tests to see what song could come on when I switched the radio on and selected random – I called it music magic. It ALWAYS picked a song title, with a name to match my mood, activity, and many times a song with a family member name in the title, or a website I had just looked at. If I was outside it was a nature song. If I was going to the ocean it was a beach song. If I was thinking about someone the song contained that person’s name! That got to be too weird and 100% predictable, 100% accurate, and 100% distracting.
To add to this – I have heard many New Age practitioners saying this is a good thing to do and “confirms the spirit guides are listening to you”. I also wonder how much of this meditation music does more harm than good. I can’t tell you how many people now can’t sleep without the TV or radio on – and I am sure they don’t sleep very well, as in getting healing sleep.
I also like to collect antiques, which I am aware of full of implants. I try to detox them first, and forgot one day about a set of antique love letters I brought in the house to use for scrap-booking. That night a song started up in my dreams – “And the Band Played On”, written in 1865! I actually recognized the tune, but have never owned that song and don’t remember any event where I heard it. This song played for days in my head. That was it – up out of bed and took those cards out of the house, and had to get rid of them.
Casey would waltz with a strawberry blonde,
And the band played on.
He’d glide cross the floor with the girl he adored,
And the band played on.
But his brain was so loaded it nearly exploded,
The poor girl would shake with alarm.
He’d ne’er leave the girl with the strawberry curls,
And the band played on.

Haha, Annabelle . . . so you’ve definitely got a mood, event, interactions coordinating song playing implant then. They’ll be another ‘exercise’ focus to engage with all music combinations in a day or two . . .
And, yea, the series Warehouse 13 is worth people watching an episode or three for ‘physical’ things with subtle ‘influences’ attached (or in the simulation it’s also possibly VR rendered or VR magical realms generated things with magical properties attached).

Hi Annabelle (and Clive), I read your comment of collecting antiques and them being full of implants, and was wondering about how you detox those items? I ask because I’ve been collecting songbooks from a video game series I use to play (I’ve been taking lessons on playing the piano,) and now that I’ve read this, I’m wondering about those books. I haven’t had any weird songs playing while I sleep or anything, but aside from those books, I’m also concerned about some of the other things I have here. Will definitely have to check out that Warehouse 13 series Clive mentioned.
Clive, I was also wondering, what is this Dune series I’ve heard about in some of the comments?
Thank you for your time!

Hey Clive. Up to this morning when I woke up, I had a Christmas song played in my mind. It was a female singer and I had the song in mind but ONLY to forget the name of the song. As I opened my eyes my goodness this Christmas song started to play in my head. This song is one of many songs played repeatedly on my job. The song is not even my favorite but yet it was played out in my head which was funny even when you brought the above topic to mind the other day.
